Addicks boss Bob Peeters admits Watford’s change of manager has posed him with a tactical dilemma ahead of Saturday’s meeting between the two high-flyers at The Valley.

The Hornets sit second in the table, although this excellent start to the campaign didn’t stop the Hertfordshire club dispensing with the services of Beppe Sannino and replacing him with Oscar Garcia.

Garcia is no stranger to the Championship having been in charge at Brighton last year, but Peeters conceded the managerial merry go round at Vicarage Road had disrupted his own pre-match preparations.

Asked if he was surprised by what had happened, the SE7 gaffer said: “Of course, yes.

“When you take 12 points out of 15 you never think a manager is going to go away.

“They were playing 3-5-2 and the manager who comes in now used to play 4-3-3 at Brighton, so it is all about the way they are going to play because a new manager might put some other players in.

“You never know.

“They had two weeks to prepare for the game so for us it is going to be interesting how they are going to play as well.

“We try to be prepared as much as possible but when you change a manager you never know what his vision is.”

Peeters added: “We know a bit what his vision is but will he change 3-5-2 into 4-3-3? We don’t know.

“We will see within the game. We try to prepare our players on it that which system they play we can handle it.”

But despite all the upheaval at Watford, Peeters isn’t sure if it means now is the perfect time to take on this weekend’s opponents.

“I don’t know, I think they are full of confidence when you have 12 points.

“They are scoring a lot of goals, even in the last game when they went with 10-men and scored two goals so it is a very strong side.

“We need to have a lot of respect for them and be on top of our game to get something out of it.”
