A motorcyclist caught doing 72mph on a 30mph road in Grove said he was trying to get his frozen pizza home before it defrosted.

Thames Valley Roads Policing officers tweeted that they stopped the biker on Mably Way yesterday just after midday.

It is not yet clear who the driver is.

Remeinds me of the time my mate got stopped in Abingdon for speeding.

His excuse was he low on petrol and was rushing to the 24/7 garage before it closed.

The copper let him off and told him to drive more carefully and pay attention to the speed limits in future!
