After several years of neglect, we now read that money is being diverted away from ‘urgent’ road repairs and spent on less urgent maintenance instead (September 10).

I am replying to Mr Day’s reply to my original letter rather belatedly, as I have been on holiday on The Isle of Wight, where to my amazement cyclists stop at red lights at pedestrian crossings and even smile and wish you ‘good day’.

Scheme will not bring new life into Woodstock

The Woodstock Action Group (WAG) has resolved to fight plans by the Pye Homes-Vanbrugh Trust (AKA Blenheim Estate) to double the size of Woodstock by proposing to develop 1,500 houses partially on farmland to the south east of the town, in particular behind Hedge End and Plane Tree Way and partially extending into the Cherwell District along Campsfield and Shipton Roads.
