ANTI-social behaviour has fallen across Oxford in the last year with the number of reports in some areas falling by 31 per cent.
According to Thames Valley Police there were 3,621 reports of anit-social behaviour (ASB) in the city between August 12, 2013 and August 11 this year, down from 3,804 in the same period last year.
The force defines ASB as an act which leave people feeling threatened, creates a public nuisance, harms the environment or someone’s quality of life.
The largest drop was in Barton and Risinghurst, where reports fell 31 per cent, from 229 to 157.
Local police area commander for Oxford, Superintendent Christian Bunt, said: “The drop in number of incidents shows the steps we are taking in partnership with the city council, community safety partners and, most importantly, our local communities.”
Oxfordshire county councillor for Headington and Risinghurst Community Association trustee Roz Smith welcomed the news.
In Oxford East, including Cowley Road, the figure dropped 16 per cent, from 612 to 513.
Reported incidents in Oxford South East fell 11 per cent, from 687 to 610.
