WE hope a two-year saga over a planned rent increase at Oxford’s Covered Market will soon come to a close.
Oxford City Council recognises that more needs to be done to attract more people to the market. It commissioned a report into its future and this summer appointed the market’s first manager.
Yes, the proposed 16 per cent increase across the board will be a bitter pill to swallow for some.
But with the issue behind them, both parties can hopefully see it as water under the bridge and focus on working together.
