Painter and decorator Martin Ponting has become the first man in Oxfordshire to be prosecuted for fly-tipping after he was caught on a CCTV camera.

Spy cameras hidden in a hedge caught unemployed Ponting, 43, of Bow Bank, Longworth, dumping a wardrobe on land off Draycott Road, Southmoor, in July last year.

Yesterday he pleaded guilty to fly-tipping at Didcot Magistrates' Court and was fined £100 and ordered to pay £600 costs.
