THIEVES broke into a supermarket in an early-morning raid.

The Sainsbury’s supermarket, in Market Street, Chipping Norton, was targeted earlier today in what Thames Valley Police described as a “smash and grab” raid.

A staff member at the shop confirmed the raid had happened in the "early hours" of this morning.

Police have since appealed for anyone with information to call 101.

Officers were today seen guarding the tobacco stand in the supermarket, which had been cordoned off with police tape.
