PROUD newlyweds Louise Duman and Richard Dicks celebrated their nuptuals with a blessing at an East Oxford hospice that cared for their daughter.

The couple tied the knot on Friday at Oxford Register Office and then attended Helen House Hospice in Leopold Street.

The pair, from Corsham, Wiltshire, celebrated with their daughters six-month-old Lois and Ella, five.

Ella, who has a complex genetic condition which causes severe epilepsy, has been cared for by the hospice for the last year.

After attending a blessing by chaplain Stephen Harrison, Mrs Dicks, 42, a life coach, said: “Helen House is a really positive, uplifting place for us, both the environment and the people.

“We wanted the wedding and blessing together and because of all Ella’s needs, by coming to Helen House the pressure is taken off.

“We didn’t have to worry about her on the day.”

Mr Dicks, 41, said: “We were going to get married once we had kids, and then with Ella’s diagnosis it just blew everything else out of the water.

“It’s important for us, it’s symbolic of this whole experience and getting through it, our devotion to each other through all this.”
