THE catwalks of London, Paris and Milan are world famous – but not so the runways of Cowley Road.

On Sunday models strutted their stuff at Verde Restaurant, Cowley Road to raise money for charity.

The clothes featured in the show were taken from the CLIC Sargent charity shop on London Road, Headington.

Shop manager Sharon Walton said more than £500 was raised.

She said: “This is the second time we have held the fashion show and we think it went really, really well.

“We wanted to get rid of some of the stock in the shop as it is coming up to the end of the summer and it all looked fantastic on the models.

“We didn’t do the show last year, so I thought it was time we bought it back.”

The money will now go towards helping young people and children who have cancer.

Sharon’s niece Abigail Walton, 13, of Greater Leys took part.

The St Gregory the Great pupil said: “I wanted to take part to raise money for children with cancer.

“It was amazing really fun and I would really love to do it all again.”
