AN ONLINE petition to save East Oxford Community Centre has gathered support from almost 700 people.

Residents across the city have signed the Change.org petition after Oxford City Council asked East Oxford Community Association to vacate the building.

The group was told to leave after concerns were raised over the management of the centre. But the group will remain at its Cowley Road base for the immediate future following a meeting between trustees and the council on July 21.

I know nothing behind this article apart from the comments of those who have signed by the petition. If the council has a different point of view why don't they state it as they are always quick to put out a statement by their PR department on everything else.
