A NURSERY which was rated inadequate after safety fears has turned itself around and been told it is good in all areas.
Ofsted re-inspected the centre at RAF Benson in May and said that children are safe and well cared for.
Concerns were raised last December after a report said the nursery failed to protect them from “unsuitable persons”, and during the visit staff were seen using nappy changing tables to do paperwork.
However, the nursery, which is run by 4Children, has made a turnaround.
Inspector Sue Skinner said: “Staff have a good understanding of how to protect children and are aware of the procedures they need to follow if they have a concern about the well-being of children.”
Nikki Hamilton, mother of Lucy, two, and William, eight, who has used the nursery for more than six years said: “The changes made by the nursery have been fantastic.’’ Squadron Leader Michelle Burrows, the RAF’s liaison officer for the nursery, said: “The improvements have been outstanding and thoroughly appreciated by our parents and children.”
