ARTIST Patrick Cannon used his childhood in Milton, near Didcot, as a source of inspiration for his paintings.

This oil painting, A Forest Opening, portrays Milton Manor’s woods and was on show at Oxford Art Fair at The Fishes pub, North Hinksey, at the weekend.

Mr Cannon, 40, who sold three paintings for £220, £300 and £450, said: “We used to visit what I used to call the secret forest in Milton, which actually was just a thin strip of woods on the boundary of Milton Manor.

“It seemed a lot larger when I was little, and it used to seem so much bigger. This is a child’s perspective.”

He said: “The Oxfordshire countryside is beautiful and I want to bring out the vibrancy of it in my work.”

I saw Patrick's Didcot Power Station artwork at the weekend at The Fishes. Please can you tell me where I can find out more including prices and how I might buy a piece? I loved them all but am particularly interested in the very colourful one with the hot air balloon and the Power Station in the background.

Many thanks
Janet

Hi Patrick

Thank you very much for your quick response. I wasn’t expecting a response direct from the artist so thank you! I will definitely have a look at your websites. I love your paintings of the Power Stations and the bold colours you use and have a number of walls at home which could do with cheering up!

If I may, I will contact you directly via your websites.

Thanks again and best wishes
