The John Henry Brookes Building at Oxford Brookes University has missed the shortlist for a coveted architectural prize.

The £132m building was awarded the Royal Institute of British Architecture’s (RIBA) National Award last month.

Although it was announced yesterday it had not made the shortlist for the Stirling Prize, it was named one of 15 buildings which have made the “greatest contribution to the evolution of architecture” in the past year.

University vice-chancellor Professor Janet Beer said: “To be among the top 15 in the RIBA awards is a great achievement.”
