IT STARTED after an old friend came to visit from Australia.

But soon Nannette Butler, 43, had organised a reunion of more than 15 of her friends from all-girls secondary Milham Ford School, in Marston Road, Oxford, with friend Johanna Read, also 43.

The women met up for a reunion in Cutteslowe Park, North Oxford, on Sunday to reminisce about their schooldays together from 1983 to 1987.

Mum-of-three Mrs Butler, who now lives in London, said: “My friend Johanna Read who lives in Sydney was visiting and we both realised it was 30 years since we had been at school together.

“We decided to try and organise something on Facebook and started inviting people. It was amazing to see everybody.”

Mrs Butler brought her three children, Aida, eight, Djiara, six, and Elhadji, four and Mrs Read brought her daughter Sophia, eight, and son Lucas, six.

“We all just enjoyed ourselves and had a picnic. We tried to do something our kids could enjoy too, because most of us have families now,” Mrs Butler said.

“One of the nicest things was seeing all the kids playing together, like mini versions of us. We hope we will do something again in two years.”
