POLICE have tonight released on bail a man arrested after a schoolgirl was killed and three other people injured in a crash in Witney.

The 18-year-old was arrested at the scene of the crash this morning in Curbridge Road when a car mounted the kerb and hit a man and three schoolgirls from Henry Box School.

A 14-year-old, named locally as Liberty Baker, later died of her injuries. The man is believed to have suffered a broken hip and one of the other schoolgirls is understood to have serious head injuries.

Police arrested the man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

"The man, who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a collision in Curbridge Road at 8.12am in which a 14-year-old girl was killed, has been bailed until 10 August."
