I’m a student in Oxford and not long ago we had the same problem as at Cheney over uniforms, except there were more than about 35 students in isolation or even sent home a day. The girls were not allowed to class if they didn’t have “the correct trousers” on.

Thanks to Tony Richardson for ‘putting me right’ on the difficulty for the man in street to buy duplicate vehicle number plates. But if he’d bothered to read the last paragraph of my letter, he might realise it’s down to who you know, rather than what the law says.

The Friends of Abingdon Civic Society is extremely concerned about the way in which large developers are using the planning process. It is apparent that they are taking advantage of the ‘presumption in favour of sustainable development’ and using their financial muscle to obtain planning permission for inappropriate developments regardless of serious local concerns.
