A car caught fire after a collision between four vehicles on the M40.
The incident closed two lanes of the northbound carriageway, between the Wheatley junction and the A34 junction near Bicester, and caused long tailbacks.
Fire crews were called at 11.43am and put out the burning car, which was reported to be badly damaged.
They had extinguished the blaze by 12.56pm.
The outside lane later reopened and the area was cleared by recovery vehicles by 2.40pm. One woman was injured.
