AN air ambulance service has not explained why it was used to take Hollywood actor Harrison Ford, right, to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital for a broken ankle.
Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance has not responded to our query about the actor, 71, who was taken to hospital on Thursday.
Call-outs cost the trust on average £2,500 a time and the air ambulance is funded solely by donations.
Ford was injured by an hydraulic door while filming Star Wars: Episode VII at Pinewood Studios, Buckinghamshire.
Thames Valley Police was called to the scene and said the Health and Safety Executive had been informed.
A spokesman for Star Wars franchise owner Disney said filming would continue.
The latest Star Wars instalment began production last month and is set 30 years after 1983’s Return of the Jedi.
Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust would not comment.
