A SOCIAL enterprise which helps vulnerable people get back on their feet is hunting for an eBay expert to help sell items from its ‘Aladdin’s cave’ of donations.

The homeless charity Emmaus Oxford wants to recruit extra hands, including a specialist for the online auction website, to help at its store in Westlands Drive, and shop in the Templars Square Shopping Centre, in Cowley.

It is hoped the volunteer would have the know-how to list unusual items donated to the store for sale on the Internet to boost its income. Currently, it does not use eBay.

Carl Salisbury, 49, a store co-ordinator for Emmaus Oxford, said items could be rare records, vintage furniture or pottery.

He said: “If we get that rare piece it could be thousands, but on a regular basis it could be hundreds. What we want is someone with a passion for eBay who uses it on a regular basis.”

Emmaus Oxford offers accommodation and work for 28 men and women who might otherwise be homeless.
