THANK heavens Oxford City Council has seen sense over Mrs Holloway’s Wendy house.

Anyone could see the nonsense in demanding planning permission for the children’s playhouse to be erected in the mum-of-two’s garden.

Planning law is there to make sure developments big and small are within the interests of all parties.

They are vital for stopping inappropriate plans or overdevelopment.

But they should also not be applied in such a blanket fashion. Common sense needs to come into consideration too.

It was clearly lacking here until the case was highlighted by the Oxford Mail.

Now the children can enjoy playtime with tea parties and story-telling once more.

Perhaps they will even invite some of the council staff along too.
