SWEET treats and boxes crammed with delectable doughnuts were delivered to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital.

Staff at the children’s ward were thrilled with the tasty treats.

The iced, custard and jam doughnuts were presented to medical secretary Mary Trinder as part of the Oxford Mail’s Doughnut Friday promotion in which workplaces could nominate themselves for the prize.

Secretarial services manager Pauline Burke said: “It was a lovely surprise. Mary had entered the competition without us knowing. The doughnuts tasted lovely and we were able to share them with more of our colleagues.”

Sainsbury’s Heyford Hill store kindly donated the doughtnuts on Friday, May 16.

Sainsbury’s PR Ambassador Sharon Hulbert said: “They were very happy to receive them. They brightened up their morning.

“We were more than happy to provide the doughnuts. It was just to make their work place day a little happier.”
