Brookes to toast its ‘best building’ award

Oxford Brookes chancellor Shami Chakrabarti will help celebrate the university’s award for the best building in the south of England next month.

The university’s John Henry Brookes building, which opened this year, was named Building of the Year for the south by the Royal Institute for British Architects (RIBA).

It will now compete for the national Stirling Prize for Architecture.

Ms Chakrabarti and other staff will celebrate the award from 4pm on Wednesday, June 4.
