As track records go, Network Rail has one as enviable as a pump trolley in a siding.
Its latest feat in public relations has left a nursery dwarfed by a huge bridge.
In fairness, this project was jointly run between Network Rail and other operators.
But whatever public consultation was carried out the nursery seems to have been left in the dark.
Not only is it an eyesore, but could pose serious safety concerns for the children.
Work on the new Oxford to London Marylebone rail link began in February and the first section is due to open next summer.
One hopes lessons will be learnt from this latest event to ensure future issues involve the whole community.
