A BICESTER supermarket is claiming to be one of the first retailers in the UK to help customers recycle Easter egg packaging.
People are being urged to use the recycling bins across 50 of Sainsbury’s supermarket branches to help cut the amount of plastic waste going to landfill.
Cardboard and foil packaging can be easily recycled, but the plastic that some eggs sit in is usually landfilled. Bicester store manager Vince Brimble said: “We must act as a responsible retailer by providing ways to support the local environment.’’
