SHOPPERS in Witney were greeted by an unusual sight as 70 classic cars drove into the town on Sunday.
They were taking a pit-stop as part of the Corinium Run, an annual event organised by Cirencester Car Club.
The 130-mile route started and ended in the Corinium Stadium, in Cirencester, and visited towns and villages in Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire, including Witney.
Drivers parked their cars, which included old Ferraris, MGs, Triumphs, Morgans and Land Rovers, in Marriotts Walk multi-storey car park and by the town square.

John Dresser – who brought his green Triumph TR3a – and his wife, Heather, stopped off for lunch at Café Rouge in Woodford Way.
He said: “There were a lot of interested people asking drivers about their vehicles.
“It was a nice day. It was lovely to drop into Witney for lunch.”
Mr Dresser, 70, from near Cirencester, has taken part in a number of rallies, including the Monte Carlo Classic Car Rally.

He added: “This one was a good run. They take you on small roads through lots of interesting places and it’s a very pleasant run.
“The idea is to get a good fuel economy so you have to estimate how many miles to the gallon you will do and they check your consumption.”
