A PANEL ruled yesterday that a nursing home nurse did threaten to cut the daughter of a quadriplegic patient “into little pieces”.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council said allegations against Greta Muvuti were proved. The nurse, who worked at Merryfield House Nursing Home in New Yatt Road, Witney, now faces an anxious wait over the future of her career.

The hearing was told Muvuti saw the woman as “competition” and accused her of trying to “run the show” at the nursing home.

When the daughter, referred to only as Jennifer, insisted her father needed a doctor Muvuti threatened to ‘slit her throat’.

The nurse had complained to colleagues that she found it ‘difficult’ working with the patient’s family just a week before the incident.

The nurse denied making the threats during the incident on November 10, 2010 but an NMC panel found most of the allegations proved.

The panel are still to decide whether Muvuti is guilty of misconduct and whether her fitness to practice is currently impaired. If guilty of misconduct she could be barred from the profession.

The hearing ran out of time and will resume on a date to be fixed.
