THAMES Valley Police Deputy Chief Constable helped victims of a crash on his way to work yesterday.
Francis Habgood was first on the scene following the crash on the A34 at the M40 roundabout.
An elderly woman was taken by ambulance to the John Radcliffe Hospital with neck injuries after her red Audi A4 collided with a black Renault Clio near Wendlebury.
Police were called at 8.34am but Mr Habgood was driving past when he spotted the accident.
He said: “While driving to work on the A34 I noticed there had been a collision so I did what any other Thames Valley Police officer would do and stopped to help by checking on the condition of those involved and directing traffic until our officers and paramedics arrived.
“I hope those who were involved make a rapid recovery.”
The Renault driver is not believed to have been hurt. One lane to the south of the roundabout was closed until about 9.15am.
