OWNERS of older sat navs are being advised to update their software to include an accident blackspot roundabout in Bicester.
Oxfordshire County Council has confirmed the roundabout at the junction of Vendee Drive and the A41 dual carriageway is on Ordnance Survey maps, following concerns about a series of crashes there.
Councillors had raised concerns about the safety of the approach to the junction after several vehicles had accidents.
A county council spokesman said: “The recently constructed A41 roundabout is on Ordnance Survey maps from which private satellite navigation companies can obtain their information. It is up to individual companies to ensure that their data is up-to-date.
“It is also possible to update software on older (personal) sat nav systems to include newly constructed highway infrastructure.”
