The city has been chosen as one of two in England to mark 85 years of the Townswomen’s Guild today.
A thanksgiving service will be held at 1.30pm at Christ Church Cathedral to honour the group, formed in 1929 by Suffragists.
There will be a parade into the cathedral from various Guilds across the country. A similar event will take place in Manchester.
