A SWINDON man died after a three-vehicle smash on the A420 near Faringdon at about 3.50am today.
The man, in his 30s, was in a white Seat Leon which collided with a articulated DAF lorry and white articulated Volvo lorry.
Emergency services were called to the A420 at Pusey Woods, between Kingston Bagpuize and Faringdon, shortly before 4am.
The road was closed while investigations took place and re-opened by 3.30pm.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said two people had to be cut free but details of the vehicles they were in were not available.
The Seat driver, in his thirties, was pronounced dead at the scene, Thames Valley Police said.
A woman passenger in the vehicle was taken to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the Volvo lorry was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries and has since been discharged.
Traffic is being diverted through Pusey on the B4508.
