DANCERS at Drayton Primary School near Abingdon used their ballet and street dance skills to win through to the national finals of a dance competition.
Two months of practising after school paid off on Monday when the group won the South-West regionals of the Great Big Dance Off.
Judges picked the dancers from the Hilliat Fields school as the winners against 19 other groups.
The 22 school pupils aged four to 11 mixed ballet and street dance in their routine about a boy fed up with reading fairytales who decides to make his own with fairytale characters.
Four-year-old Chloe Langridge said: “I enjoyed it because I love dancing and it makes me happy.”
They are heading to the national finals at Oxford’s New Theatre in George Street on June 10.
Dance teacher Charlotte Tranham said: “I’m really proud of them.’’
