A 21-YEAR-OLD man has been remanded in custody after bank staff were threatened with a knife.

Lewis Bates, of Tavistock Avenue, appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday after police were called to the Santander bank in Broadway, Didcot, at about 10.35am on Monday.

He is charged with attempted robbery and possession of a blade and will appear at Oxford Crown Court on Friday, April 11.
