A CONVOY of motorcycles delivered much-needed food supplies to an Oxfordshire animal sanctuary.

A group of bikes were loaded with dog and cat food as they left Bucknell Road, Bicester, heading along the A34, to the Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary in Stadhampton on Saturday.

It was the fourth year running Beerhounds Motorcycle Club president Rob Douglas has organised the ride.

With the help of two support vehicles, bikers delivered about £600 worth of food and £109 in cash.

Mr Douglas said: “It was a fantastic day.

“It was quite a sight – a lot of spectators came to see the bikes ride off from Bucknell Road.

“The sun shining always helps with a massive turn-out as people want to ride their bikes in weather like that.”

He said more than 50 motorcyclists took part and the sanctuary was “very pleased” to see the group arrive at its Stadhampton base.
