A man in his 20s came off his bike yesterday in Abingdon Road near the junction with Whitehouse Road in Oxford.

Fireman Simon Tyrrell from the White Watch at Rewley Road Fire Station was one of the first on the scene.

The 40-year-old from Botley said: “I turned up as he fell off and made sure he was ok. I made sure he was not in any discomfort before the ambulance arrived.”

An ambulance arrived at the scene at 8.48am and the team confirmed that the man has suffered a leg injury.
