A PERSON died after being hit by a train at the Roundham crossing in Kidlington yesterday.
The incident happened just before noon and shut the railway lines between Oxford and Banbury for about two hours.
British Transport Police had last night not confirmed the sex of the deceased.
A BTP spokesman said: “The incident was reported to us at 11.54am and was also attended by officers from Thames Valley Police.
“Medics from the South Central Ambulance Service attended but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
“Officers are now working to establish the person’s identity and inform their family.”
