Conservative stalwart and former county council finance chief Charles Shouler has died, aged 79.
The former cabinet member for finance, who represented Bicester until 2013, had battled cancer for several years.
He stepped down from the county council after 20 years representing Bicester due to ill health.
Mr Shouler, a retired farmer, who was born and brought up in Chesterton, and farmed there for many years, but most recently lived in Bicester.
He is also a former leader of Cherwell District Council.
