Seventy brave and fleet-footed fundraisers faced their fears and walked across hot coals for a variety of charities on Saturday.
Among them was Cowley 32-year-old Jenny Daniels who, with nine others in her team, insisted on being first to gallop across the glowing embers to raise money for SpecialEffect, the Charlbury charity which helps her daugher Charlotte Nott play with adapted games.
Ms Daniels said: “Walking over hot coals was nothing compared to everything Charlotte has been through, with operations and everything else.
“It wasn’t a physical thing, it was a mental thing, it is all in your head. I was mentally prepared because people had sponsored me.”
Ms Daniels was so geared up that she insisted on going first, despite being told the coals would be at their hottest.
She raised £265 in sponsorship for SpecialEffect.
