DETECTIVES have seized an estimated £5m worth of heroin and cocaine and charged two Oxfordshire men with plotting to import hard drugs.

Five kilos of heroin were seized at a Woodstock property on Monday along with 3kg of cocaine and 1kg of heroin at an address in Oxford.

Martin Gray, 31, of Randolph Avenue, Woodstock, and 35-year-old Yemi Aiyegbusi, of Walton Street, Oxford, were yesterday charged with conspiracy to import heroin and cocaine, and conspiracy to supply the drugs.

It comes after 13kg of cocaine and 2kg of heroin were seized by police who stopped a vehicle on the M40 near High Wycombe on Monday and a lorry in Dover.

Police said the arrests came after a complex investigation by the Serous and Organised Crime Unit.

Woodstock Town Council member Sharone Parnes, who lives close to Randolph Avenue in Lewisfield Way, was shocked by the raid. He said: “It is a very family-orientated neighbourhood and town.”

More than £50,000 in cash was also seized during the raids, along with a hydraulic press and various other drug paraphernalia.

David Bowen and Shorne Ross, both 42 and of Mumford Drive, Rothersthorpe, Northampton, and Dutch national Razaki Hakan, 41, have also been charged with the same crimes.

Their cases were heard at Banbury Magistrates’ Court yesterday and the suspects were remanded in custody to appear at Oxford Crown Court on March 21.

A 33-year-old man from Oxford has also been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and released on bail until April 21.
