A MAN says he feels like he’s “lost a part of himself” after his motorbike was stolen while he was at home.

Matthew Grihault, of Mickle Way, Forest Hill, said the keys to his home, garage, van and black Suzuki GSX R1000 were stolen while he was watching television in the living room at about 1.30am on Saturday.

The father-of-three had spent £25,000 on the vehicle since 2006 and had won six drag racing championships riding it.

“I’m devastated. I’ve spent money on it but it has sentimental value as well,” he said.

“It’s a family member. My children are more important but my bike is very close. I feel like I’ve had a limb chopped off.”

Mr Grihault, 31, a builder, also had his van broken into six weeks ago and tools stolen from it. He believes he has an idea who stole the bike after posting about the latest theft on Facebook and receiving about 60 phone calls from friends who had spotted a group of three men riding it around Blackbird Leys and trying to sell it.

Police believe the incident happened between 11.30pm on Friday and 1.30am on Saturday and are appealing for witnesses.
