Thames Valley Police is appealing for information after a robbery at a fast food restaurant in Oxford this morning.

Officers were called to the McDonald’s restaurant in Botley Road shortly after 6am after reports that two men wearing masks had entered the store, threatened staff and demanded money be handed over, before leaving the scene.

The men drove off at speed in a white Seat in the direction of the A34.

Although the men were wearing masks, it is believed they were white.

Det Con Arran Cliff said: “This area is always busy with early morning commuters and I am keen to hear from anyone who may have seen these men fleeing the scene and can provide us with details about their movements.

“This sort of offence is very unusual for this area and the local neighbourhood team will be carrying out additional patrols in the area to offer reassurance to the local community and will be available to answer people’s questions.”

Police have not confirmed if anything was stolen.
