OXFORD’s chapels regularly ring with choir music – but Wednesday was a little different.
Luka Gadeliya and Christina Eshba travelled from Moscow to give a concert at Queen’s College, Oxford University.
Mr Gadeliya plays the organ, and Ms Eshba is a soprano singer.
Originally come from Abkhazia, which is a state on the coast of the Black Sea, the duo are touring around the UK.
Mr Gadeliya, 28, said: “Queen’s was wonderful – it has very good acoustics and a brilliant organ.
“The musical traditions in Oxford are very strong, and so I wanted to include the college on our tour.
“We played our own music traditions from our country.”
Ms Eshba, 24, added: “It was nice to see so many people and receive such a warm welcome despite the bad weather.”
