TEAMS of walkers are being urged to take part in Oxford’s first Cancer Research Relay for Life.

Groups of between eight and 15 people are urged to sign up to take it in turns throughout the night to walk a circuit in the grounds of Oxford Rugby Club over the weekend of July 19.

Cash raised by groups of work colleagues, friends and families will go to Cancer Research UK.

Teams can pitch a tent at the site in North Hinksey Lane, North Hinksey Village, and each member will take a turn to walk around the track while the rest of the group join organised activities.

At dusk a Candle of Hope ceremony will take place where special bags decorated with message in memory of a loved one.

A candle will be put inside each bag and they will then line the relay track.
