A CONSULTATION meeting on a proposal to turn the Eynsham Schools Partnership into a multi-academy trust will take place tonight at Northmoor Village Hall.

The partnership is made up of Bartholomew School in Eynsham, a secondary school which is already an academy, and six primary schools: Eynsham; Freeland; Hanborough Manor; Standlake; Stanton Harcourt; and St Peter's, Cassington.

They are proposing creating the trust to strengthen working ties between the schools.

Bartholomew School's headteacher, Andrew Hamilton, told parents in a letter: "The governors believe that this conversion would provide us with greater capacity in our continued drive to improve the educational opportunities for all of the children within the Eynsham Partnership communities."

The meeting at the Church Road hall, which is open to the public, starts at 7pm.

Responses to the consultation must be submitted by March 7.
