A 28-year-old man from RAF Benson has been jailed for raping a woman in 2008.
Lee Hosking appeared at Truro Crown Court, Cornwall, yesterday and pleaded guilty to three counts of rape.
He was sentenced to nine-and-a-half years in prison.
The conviction relates to an offence that occurred in Penzance on May 5, 2008.
Detective Inspector Stuart Ellis of Devon and Cornwall Police said Hosking had pleaded guilty to βan exceptionally violent rape.β
He said: "Since 2008, the victim of this terrible offence has had to live with its devastating effects and will inevitably have to continue to do so.
"Every aspect of her life, her relationships, her career and her health have been irrevocably damaged since she was attacked.
"I hope that it will be at least some small comfort to her that Lee Hosking has finally been brought to justice."
