A SHOP worker was threatened with a knife in an attempted robbery in Abingdon last night.
Three men went into the store in Ock Street shortly before 10pm attempting to reach over the counter.
The member of staff fended one man off and the three men then fled the scene empty handed.
The first man is described as white, 6ft to 6ft 2ins tall and was wearing a grey jumper and had a scarf over his face.
The second man was 5ft 8ins and was wearing a black balaclava and a green jacket.
The third man was white, short in height and was wearing a dark navy hooded top with the hood up, blue jeans and light-coloured gloves.
Det Sgt Tony Maddison from the CID team based at Abingdon said: "While we would never advise anyone to challenge an armed man, the member of staff showed great bravery in fending off the robber and thankfully wasn’t hurt in the incident.
"I would like to appeal to anyone who was in the Ock Street area last night around this time, who may have seen these men and have information about their movements, to come forward and speak to us as soon as possible."
Anyone with information should contact Det Sgt Maddison via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 101.
