Waiting times worsen
8:30am Saturday 25th January 2014 in News
PERFORMANCE against a key accident and emergency waiting time target slumped to the worst since the start of October, latest figures show.
Official NHS figures for the week to Sunday show 84.1 per cent of A&E cases were seen within four hours.
This meant 352 waited more than this time at Oxford’s John Radcliffe and Banbury’s Horton General hospitals.
But of the 2,211 total patients who went to A&E, just 605 were serious enough to require emergency admission.
Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs the hospitals, has missed a target – to get at least 95 per cent seen within four hours, every week except two since October 21.
The trust declined to comment.
