Oxford Mail: Housing bid vetoed Housing bid vetoed

Planners have thrown out a bid for planning permission for two homes in Headington.

The applicant wanted to build two five-bedroom homes for family use behind 2 to 14 Jack Straws Lane.

But Oxford City Council has refused to grant planning permission.

It said the proposed homes would change the character of the area too much and be too close to existing homes.

surey another case of people in gross houses shouldn't throw moans, eh, City Council? Its area planning committees have about as much connection with communities, as some it the city councillors who help to run Oxford. Time we went back to planning being part of democratic Area Committees, not area forums run for the benefit of councillors.-
