WITNEY’S first Christmas market was suspended yesterday, due to the stormy weather.
The stalls in the Market Square were open on Sunday but were taken down as a safety precaution due to the forecast of high winds and heavy rain from mid-afternoon on Monday.
Paul Kennedy, the organiser of the market, said stalls would be set up again today for Christmas Eve shoppers.
He added: “We couldn’t take the risk. Those gazebos fly in 65mph winds.”
