A CASH boost is on its way to an Oxfordshire prostate cancer charity after it won a public vote.

The Oxfordshire Prostate Cancer Support Group came first out of four charities in the running for the £3,000 grant from the Lloyds Bank Community Fund.

John Goldsmith – pictured front right with fellow group members – said: “We would like to thank Lloyds Bank and everyone who voted for us.

“We came first with 40 per cent of the 5,268 votes cast at Kidlington and Bicester branches of Lloyds Bank, on the internet and the mobile phone votes. We will receive a cheque for £3,000.

“This money will allow us to buy equipment for the Urology Department at the Churchill Hospital, a gazebo for our awareness events and publicity literature that we give out and send to 87 doctors surgeries throughout Oxfordshire.”
