A man who threatened pub door staff with a craft knife and has avoided jail.

Arthur Robinson, 49, of Padbury Drive, Banbury, admitted possessing a bladed weapon outside the Fleur-De-Lis pub in Broad Street, Banbury, on August 3.

Meryl Hughes, prosecuting at Oxford Crown Court yesterday, said Robinson was very drunk and got into an argument with staff, which ended in him pulling out the four-inch blade and being tasered by police.

He received a 12-months prison sentence, suspended for two years, and told to pay a £100 victims’ surcharge.
